How does saving you money on your bills help WaterAid?
By helping you see how much water and energy you are using we can provide tips on how to save on your bills. You can put this saved money to good use by using some of it to transform lives for the better, through WaterAid.
Your support goes a long way. When a community gets clean water for the first time, it creates a powerful ripple, saving lives and improving people's health, education and livelihoods.
How will the Savings Engine help me save on my utility bills?
- Simple, bite-sized tips for all your appliances to help you make small steps towards big savings
- A water and energy use comparison to other households in your region
- Free water saving devices to improve the performance of your appliances and reduce your water consumption without restricting use (only available to customers with participating water companies)
- Provide a free home visit by a plumber to homeowners with leaks or where we think they could benefit (only available to customers with participating water companies).
How do I know it's any good?
More than 312,000 homeowners have completed the Savings Engine™ and Save Water Save Money has received feedback from more than 8,500 people, scoring an impressive 4.71 out of 5.
Let's face it - if you can save even a tenner for no more than six minutes of your time, that can't be bad.
I'm not on a water meter so how will I save money?
You can still save on your energy bills by reducing the amount of gas or electricity used to heat water, for example to take a shower. If you aren't on a water meter, we'll only tell you how much you can save on your energy bills without restricting use of individual appliances. What's more we'll even tell you if you'll be better off on a water meter and if you will be we will direct you to your water company website page to make your request as smooth and simple as possible.

Questions about how we use your data
How will you use my information?
Save Water Save Money is ISO27001 accredited which means it has obtained the international standard that describes best practice for an ISMS (information security management system), since 2013. Achieving accredited certification to ISO 27001 demonstrates that Save Water Save Money is following information security best practice, and delivers an independent, expert assessment that the data we hold is adequately protected.
Why do you need my postcode?
We require your postcode for two reasons. First, so we can work out the correct supply and sewerage charges, to make your results as accurate as possible. And secondly, so we can identify whether your water company offers free water-saving products which you can then claim.
Why do I need to provide my email address and a password?
We ask for your email address so you can pop away and come back again if you haven't finished answering the questions.
This is your personal platform to save water and reduce your bills. We don't expect you to save lots instantly, so it can act as a referral point for you to return and monitor your progress in the future. It also means you can return in the future to make use of exclusive offers, discounts on products & services and also new water-savings advice when available.
